Welcome to Stactra. This document explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use the Stactra mobile application.
1. Privacy Policy
1.1 Information We Collect
Stactra is designed to help users track personal development through books and movies.
We collect the following data:
Account Information
- Email address
- Authentication credentials (via Firebase Authentication)
User-Generated Content
- Books and movies marked as completed
- Ratings and notes
- Stat progression data
- Credit balance (In-App Purchases)
Analytics Data
We may collect anonymous technical data (e.g., crash reports, performance metrics, screen views) to improve app stability and performance.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
1.2 Infrastructure & Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Hosting, Analytics if enabled)
- Apple App Store (In-App Purchases processing)
Payments are processed securely by Apple. We do not store or access your payment details.
1.3 Data Storage & Security
User data is securely stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect your information.
1.4 Data Retention
We retain user data for as long as the account remains active.
When you delete your account, all associated personal data is permanently deleted within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days). This process is irreversible.
1.5 Your Rights (GDPR & International Users)
If you are located in the European Union or other regions with data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access your data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your personal data

1.6 Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from:
Settings → Account → Delete Account
This action permanently removes all stored data.
1.7 Children’s Privacy
Stactra is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
2. Terms of Use
By downloading or using Stactra, you agree to these terms.
Stactra operates under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
2.1 In-App Purchases
Stactra offers consumable digital credits.
- Credits are depleted upon use.
- Payments are processed by Apple.
- Refund requests must be directed to Apple Support.
We do not have access to your payment information.
2.2 Disclaimer of Warranty
The application is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of third-party data, or error-free operation.
2.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stactra and its developer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the app.
3. Legal Attributions & Data Sources
Stactra uses third-party metadata services:
The Movie Database (TMDB)
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Movie data, posters, and ratings are provided by The Movie Database.
Open Library
Book data and cover images are provided by Open Library (an initiative of the Internet Archive) and used under their open data licenses.
